Role of exosomes in the reproductive tract Oviductosomes mediate interactions of oviductal secretion with gametes/early embryo.
The oviductal epithelial membrane releases into the luminal environment extracellular vesicles (EVs) which are pleomorphic in nature and fall into two categories: exosomes and microvesicles. Both of these membrane vesicles are referred to as Oviductosomes (OVS), and to date have been identified in the murine and bovine species. Bovine EVs derived in vivo and from in vitro culture show differenc...
متن کاملAgrammatic comprehension of OVS and OSV structures in Hebrew
This commentary brings further support for the trace deletion hypothesis from a new study of OVS and OSV sentences in Hebrew, which are active constructions that involve object movement but no change in morphology. The results show that the comprehension of these constructions in Brocas aphasia is impaired, and the performance is at chance level, as predicted by the TDH.
متن کاملInduction of dog sperm capacitation by oviductal fluid.
Four estrous beagles were inseminated with 1 x 10(8) sperm into both the right and left uterine horns, and the uterine horn and oviduct on one side were removed under anesthesia after 7 hr and 24 hr, respectively. The lumen of the uterine horns and oviducts was flushed with canine capacitation medium (CCM), and movement of the sperm in CCM was assessed by phase-contrast microscopy. In a second ...
متن کاملProteins from human oviductal tissue-conditioned medium modulate sperm capacitation.
BACKGROUND Spermatozoa acquire the ability to fertilize an oocyte when they become capacitated. Capacitation takes place when sperm pass through the female reproductive tract, interacting with female fluids. Both tyrosine phosphorylation of sperm proteins and the ability to respond to acrosome reaction (AR) inducers have been associated with sperm capacitation. Recent data indicate that conditi...
متن کاملExtracellular Vesicles in Regenerative Medicine, a Brief Review
Extracellular vesicles were initially known as cellular waste carriers, while recent studies demonstrate that extracellular vesicles play important biological roles in all aspects of life-from single cells to mammalians. Their pathophysiological roles in some diseases like cancer are being decoded. Extracellular vesicles are divided into some classes and there are different strategies to isolat...
